During the VIP screening of The Tempest at the May Fair Hotel in London, one of the attendees surely looked and must have felt like a VIP with the scarf that gave her complete elegance and sophistication. Helen Mirren was a fashion sight to behold in her matching long-sleeved blouse and skirt which she accentuated with a white scarf. This only proves that scarves are everybody’s favorite fashion accessory even by the VIPs of show business. Helen Mirren showed so much class where she showcased that a scarf is still appropriate even when you are wearing something more formal.

The 66-year-old Academy Award-winning English actress, not to mention SAG A, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Emmy, has Bill Bryden to thank for casting her as Natalya Petrovna in A Month In The Country, an Ivan Turgenev project. She was so notable in her performance in the said West End production. If she has been nominated a couple of times for a Tony Award as Best Actress in a play, it was because she was superb in her portrayal of the role assigned to her. A critic once said that her performance was bigger and more animated. She is indeed one fine actress of her generation.

Celebrities seem to have a pact to always look their best wherever they may be. Even Constantine Maroulis who was spotted shopping at The Grove in Hollywood just can’t seem to be seen in a ‘shopping casual’ that he had to don a black scarf to see to it that he is still has that fashion touch even while shopping.

Emerging as a runner-up in American Idol’s season four, Maroulis has proven that one does not have to be the winner to make a name in the industry if you really have the passion and of course the innate talent. The lead vocalist of Pray for the Soul of Betty even received a Tony Award acting nomination for his role in Rock of Ages. He is truly a rocker who has got his heart and soul deeply into it.

He must be thankful to his girlfriend who urged him to try and audition for the popular singing reality show Idol back in 2004. While it was Carrie Underwood who won that season’s finals, Maroulis by this time must be feeling like a winner too with all the opportunities that are being showered on his path. His rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody earned him praises from the judges and a personal invitation from Queen’s guitarist Brian May. He was asked to record a studio version of his own rendition of a track for the album Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen. Knowing who Queen is and what the band contributed in the music industry, it must have been a great privilege for Maroulis. After all, not everybody gets the chance he was given. There are many other great rock singers but given his exotic Greek-American looks, there is that certain charisma to Maroulis. To Rebecca Hall and likely to most of the people who love fashion, the scarf would be the accessory to receive the Hall of Fame Award for being the favorite accessory of almost everybody. Young or old, woman or man, the scarf is their best outfit buddy. Rebecca Hall was simply taking a stroll in between takes of her film The Town yet she was all smiles looking right at home with a scarf casually placed around her neck. The pretty English actress of The Prestige fame looked cool and relaxed in her very ordinary outfit which she made extra-ordinary with a scarf.

It was in The Prestige that Rebecca Hall got her breakthrough to make a name for herself in the field of acting. She already appeared in several films prior to Prestige but after the said film, her potential was fully recognized. She then did the role of Vicky in Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona where critics praised her performance. She vied talents against Penelope Cruz in the said film where she was nominated for Best Actress in Motion Picture for Golden Globe. The Awakening, a British ghost film was her latest film which was released in September this year.

Hall is one fine lady who studied English Literature at Cambridge University but before that she was head girl at Roedan School. It was in Cambridge University that she got the chance to try acting when she appeared in school plays and several student stage productions. She met Dan Stevens during one of the student stage productions. Years later, they would become co-stars in As You Like It. The latest gathered about Rebecca Hall is that she is being considered to play Fantine in the film adaptation of Les Miserables. Would she be given the chance to continue donning the scarf in the film? If not, surely she’d take a stroll in between takes again to be able to wear one.

At the Saints Row: The Third Concert event held at Superclub, Los Angeles, California, celebrities were seen left and right and most of them wore outfits that made heads turn. But one thing that did not fail to catch attention was the lovely scarf Alyson Michalka wore. You see, Alyson is fondly called Kookaburra perhaps because of the way her eyes dances to the light changing from dark green to light blue at a distance. And seeing her with a scarf that looked like the color of a bird, one can’t help but admire both the wearer and the scarf at the same time.

In a black skinny jeans, black jacket and a black scarf, Charlize Theron has given a new meaning to fashion that dictates color contrasts in general. With the way Chris Brown uses scarves, it would seem like aside from he can’t breathe with No Air alongside Jordin Sparks, he can’t do without scarves, too. However, that is an exaggeration, admittedly. It is just that the use of scarves is so popular among R&B singers like Brown that you would think it is an SOP for them to don one.

It would be recalled that Chris Brown withdrew his name from the list of nominees for Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards after he figured in a controversy with then girlfriend Rihanna more than a couple of years back. The two also had to cancel their Grammys February 2009 performance because Rihanna was reportedly all bruised and battered after the two had a dispute the night before. Brown, whose musical talents cannot be denied have come out of this controversy one way or the other. He may have parted ways with Rihanna in an unfavorable surroundings but the fact remains that he co-wrote one of Rihanna’s most successful hits, the song Disturbia.

He described writing the song as creatively fun, a concept that has been going on his head but not for himself even he does sing. He thought the song did not personally fit him and writing it for someone else is an idea that could be his but the singer does not necessarily have to be the owner of the idea and he proved it right. Disturbia was a smashing hit that brought further recognition to the lady singer who used to be Brown’s flame.

Known to friends as Chris Breezy, Brown certainly looked distinguished wearing the black and white scarf that complimented the huge diamond stud he had on his ears. This image is a far cry from the Chris Brown image that was painted during the controversial issue with Rihanna.

She was a dancer before she became a part of girl power group Spice Girls but she was with another band for a short period of time before history was made by the five-girl group who sings and dances to Wannabe, Who Do You Think You Are, Spice Up Your Life and many other songs that made 2 Become 1. The Spice Girls became so famous despite the fact that Victoria rarely smiles but somehow people waited as to when she would again change her hair color or hair style. Her whistle-bait figure could have something to do with her being a vegetarian for the longest time. Despite four kids with husband David Beckham, she has maintained a very slim body which surely is the envy of many women who find it so hard to lose weight after one child.

Victoria declared that she is not materialistic and appreciates gifts that are from the heart, not because of the price tag. She loves wearing scarves not because they are expensive, of course not, but that because the designer trait in her shows that these fashion accessories are a prominent figure in creating that total look whether you are a rich girl or not.
